Guestbook

As you can see from the comments, our dog Poppy is a big hit with our guests. There are some photos of her on the blog!

We needed some time out from our busy lives at home and this gorgeous gite provided just that. The peace and serenity of the setting surrounded by incredible views has been truly restorative.
We’ve never stayed in such a well equipped home - everything has been thought of and more. We played board games, sat under the stars, went for walks - things we never do at home.
Thank you for the recommendations of places to visit. We particularly loved Belves, Roquecor and Lauzerte, incredible medieval tower.
We can’t wait to come back and explore more of France.
Merci beaucoup!

Colin and Jason,

Thank you for hosting us for our fourth stay at Le Tournesol (it would have been 6 if not for COVID!). Your gite is becoming a second home for us all and our visits are anticipated all year. Thank you for the ever generous welcome pack, the chocolate cake was once again enjoyed by all. We had the pleasure of sharing Bourg de Visa with Nick’s parents this year and they enjoyed it as much as we do.
From the night market ( a must), to the annual visit to the foie gras museum (still worth it for the samples alone) we had a wonderful visit. Our new find Au P’tit Moissac was wonderful for lunch (reservations a must!).
The weather this year was hot and hotter, having the pool was a life saver for all of us.
Thank you again for sharing your French world with us. You remain consummate hosts. We would still like to take Poppy and Lexie home if you would let us!

Nick, Sarah and Jessica ,

Well - what can we add? Form our first email conversation to the moment we arrived at this lovely place we were not disappointed. We had come home!
To arrive on a hot day to a friendly welcome, cool and immaculate accommodation - and oh that lovely pool! Cold drinks awaited us and a fab welcome pack.
We spent part of every day exploring the beautiful region in perfect weather - with none of the summer crowds. We love history - and the little bastide towns are wonderful to explore. We managed Auvillar, Lauzerte, Fresoech (a tiny gem), Pujolsl Tournon d’Agennais - and one of our favourites - Penne d’Agennais, where we visited the lovely glass blower - and bought a couple of very reasonably priced items. So beautiful!
A couple of lovely lunches at the Auberge du Brelan and Le Forentin which sits right next to the beautiful abbey entrance in Moissac.
The Abbaye du Moissac is a must. There is so much to see and wonder at.
The icing on the cake was the friendliness and relaxed charm of Meryl and Richard - definitely new friends. We had lovely chats over drinks and coffee.
The modern fashion is to ‘bathe in nature’ as they say. That is exactly what you do swimming in that immaculate pool taking in the trees and big big skies. Oh - and did I mention the sunsets?
JUST LOVED IT ALL!!
Thanks so much.

Sue and Noel,

Thank you for a wonderful time here in Bourg de Visa. We really liked the dolphin, kiwi and fish floats and the company of Poppy, Lexie and the bats. We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did. Thank you for helping us on Tuesday and joining us for a night at the marche gourmand. The cake was amazing!

Lauren, Lewis, Kathy and Gadget,

Came here to escape home renovations in the hope of finding peace and tranquillity. We certainly found more!
The gite is so well equipped, spotlessly clean upon arrival and the setting is fabulous. The welcome pack was great - the lemon drizzle cake superb!
We didn’t venture too far over the two weeks, but must mention the Base de Loisirs du Tarn et de la Garonne (Saint-Nicholas-de -la-Grave). Well worth a visit, not too far and if you are visiting during school holidays, lots for the children. Super walk too, alongside the river where you will find a bird hide to observe teh abundance of wildlife.
The hosts, Meryl and Richard, could not have been more helpful. We have so enjoyed their company, alongside their beautiful dogs, Poppy and Lexie. Indeed, we now consider them to be friends and hope to continue this friendship in the years to come. How lucky we have been! Thank you so much.

Joanne and Alan,

Our ‘go to’ relaxing, beautiful holiday home from home.❤️
As always, each year brings happiness and smiles to our faces and hopefully a few to Richard and Meryl, our ‘Dear Friends’!
Poppy and Lexie - we love our cuddles.
Le Tournesol- A very special place. See you again in less than a year!

Ali and Budgie,

Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We especially liked the pool, Lexi, Poppy and the pillows (they’re so soft!).
We like that we could walk to a village and that the surroundings are beautiful.
The cake and jam were also very nice and tasty.

Lauren, Lewis, Kathy and Gadget,

We have all really enjoyed our week here - you have been amazing, generous hosts - nothing is too much trouble - the homemade chocolate cake and jam, the loan of bike and even booking the local restaurant for us - we have appreciated it all.
Our stay at La Maison Tournesol has been more than we hoped for - everything is immaculate and the beautiful pool was definitely the highlight.
Thanks so much for having us!

Fiona, Steve, Aîné and Michael,

Thank you Meryl and Richard (and Poppy and Lexie!) for a simply wonderful stay. We have had two weeks of baking hot weather which meant the pool was blissful to cool off in.
Thank you for being such kind hosts and really friendly people! We felt very much looked after.
Local highlights have been Moissac, Lauzerte and the swimming lake at Montaigu du Quercy - lots of jumping off the pontoon.
The evening market in Bourg-d-V is a must too!
We have all enjoyed Meryl’s baking, delicious jam and Richard’s anecdotes!
Poppy and Lexie helped with our ´dog-sickness’ as ours is at home.
Thank you again - what a fab holiday!

Nick, Jen, Kit and Erin,

Well, what can we say? We had the most wonderful time at La Maison Tournesol! Utterly relaxing and wonderfully peaceful. Surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, we completely fell in love with your beautiful gite.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us and for your generous and welcoming hospitality.

Ruth, Shaun and Harry ,

Thank you Meryl and Richard for another fabulous stay at ´La Maison Tournesol’. You continue to be the consummate hosts. Thank you for the welcome package. The wonderful chocolate cake was much appreciated and enjoyed!
The beautiful weather was conducive to much pool time where a good time was had by all.
The house ´bible’ or green binder was a great resource not only about the running of the house but also about events in the area and great places for dining. Our only addition would be ´le cage d’oiseaux’ in Montjoi. The café in town was a great place for breakfast and a little math practice.
Our third stay with you was as wonderful as the first two. We look forward to seeing you in August 2023.
Of course we can’t forget Poppy and Lexie, your wonderful girls. We would like to take them home if you would let us!

Nick, Sarah and Jess,

This was a second trip to Le Tournesol and to see Meryl and Richard. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the company of Meryl, Richard and their 2 beautiful dogs. Our property was beautifully clean and the outside areas including the pool was kept tiptop by Richard. The welcome pack including Meryl’s home-made cake was lovely, if you get the opportunity to enjoy Meryl’s cooking, I advise you to do so, we had a beautiful meal. Please ask Meryl where we ate out one night as the food was outstanding.

We enjoyed visiting the bar in the village run by Remi who speaks fantastic English and spent lots of time exploring the local area including Moissac, Lauzerte and we especially loved Auvillar.

Thank you both for a lovely and relaxing time at your beautiful property and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

Pete and Kirsty,

Quite simply a very lovely place and very thoughtful hosts. Thank you very much indeed.

Jane and Adrian,

Thanks so much for letting us share your beautiful home. The setting is perfect, the gite has everything and you both have been marvellous hosts. Look forward to seeing you both again next year. In the meantime I hope the spaniels continue to keep you on your toes.

John and Linda,

Thank you for such a wonderful time at your house. You have thought of everything! The lemon cake and homemade jam were amazing. The house looks even better than on the photos and it is so peaceful. We loved watching the sunset by the walnut tree surrounded by fields. We had lovely meals at Restaurant Le Quercy in Lauzerte and Le Jardin in Monflanquin. Great cycling along the canal from Moissac to Auvillar. Montauban also worth visiting. We hope to return.

Sue and Niall,

What a truly amazing and lovely stay at La Maison Tournesol! We had a super stay in the immaculate gîte of Richard and Meryl, whose sincere hospitality made us feel welcome right from the start. The gîte had all the amenities that we could dream of, a perfect swimming pool to enjoy and beautiful views of the surrounding farmlands that our two teenage daughters enjoyed exploring. We were pleasantly surprised with all the sights and activities in the area and will definitely plan to return to experience more of the surrounds. Thanks Richard & Meryl. Hope to see you again soon, perhaps even for a winter breakaway!

Andre and Susan,

If you are looking for some peace and quiet in an unspoilt area off the beaten track, like we were, Le Tournesol is absolutely perfect. Set amongst the sunflower fields, the house is a perfect place to watch nature, relax and unwind. The house is pristine, very comfortable, impeccably organised and stocked with everything you need. Meryl and Richard are very thoughtful hosts - we had everything we needed on arrival without having to do an immediate dash to the supermarket. Meryl had made us a delicious lemon drizzle cake and apricot jam, as well as leaving chilled water, Rose and Beer in the fridge - very welcome indeed after the hot drive south! Special mention must be made about the lovely pool - well kept and perfectly sized for a good swim and a much needed cool off (the weather was stunning).

Isabelle, Robin and Georgia,

We have had a wonderful two weeks at Le Tournesol. We were concerned that the weather would be cold and changeable, but it has been excellent with hot sunny days and balmy evenings. We were in the pool most days, it was great after visiting one of the various Bastide villages around the area to return to a dip in the pool. Our favourite places to visit have been Moissac, Penne d'Agenais, Lauzerte and Pujols. The surrounding countryside is picturesque and we had an enjoyable trip to Agen to meet our son who joined us for our second week.
Richard and Meryl have been incredible hosts with nothing being too much trouble, including giving us advice on places to visit. The welcome pack added a nice touch to our arrival, and the lemon drizzle cake was delicious with a cup of tea. It has been a pleasure to have a chat first thing in the morning and also to see Poppy in the evenings. We managed a few glasses of wine, putting the world to rights, and also enjoyed several meals together.
We have really enjoyed our holiday in Bourg de Visa, the gite has all the necessary facilities needed for a stay in France, Meryl, Richard and Poppy went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. It has been a home from home.
We hope to return in the near future - many thanks.

John, Margita and Michael,

We have had the most relaxing 10 days at this beautifully located gite. On arrival as previous guests have mentioned, Meryl and Richard were so welcoming and the additions in the fridge were so welcome too! The chocolate cake was a lovely surprise and a lovely touch! The gite could not have been cleaner which helped us settle in from the off. For us this holiday was all about just stopping and who wouldn't want to with these views. We will take the memory of the views away with us! Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. Eating out on the patio each night was a joy! Lazy days by the pool was on our agenda and the weather being so beautiful allowed us to do just that. Beautiful location, incredibly peaceful, generous hosts....what more could we ask for! We will definitely be back. We couldn't end without mentioning the gentle lovable Poppy! We had to leave our two dogs at home so having Poppy as company throughout the holiday was the icing on the cake.

Julie, Matthew and Thea,

Thank you so much for a wonderful weeks stay at your beautiful holiday house. Our girls have loved the wildlife, watching the tractors come and go, your stunning swimming pool & the odd visit from Poppy the dog!
We have been to visit some pretty local towns - Moissac, Penne d'Agenais, Tourney d'Agenais to name a few. Also took the girls to the caves at Fontirou.
If you like the beach try Montaigu de Quercy with its beautiful swimming lake and sandy beach (has a cafe here too).
Chateau de Bonaguil is another lovely day out....although lots of steps to the top!
Thank you Meryl and Richard for being such wonderful hosts, we will certainly be recommending this beautiful gite to all our friends and family.

Becky, Paul, Holly & Bella,

We have enjoyed our second stay at Le Tournesol! Thank you to Richard and Meryl for their continued wonderful hospitality. Driving up to the house after an 8.5 hour trip felt like coming home. The welcome pack was most appreciated. The lovely chocolate cake was preferred by the little girls for tea (chosen even over crisps!). An excellent trip was had to the Musee de Foie Gras again - worth it for the samples alone. Go-Karting in Caudecoste was great with the little girls being able to share karts and their dads. Lunch in Rocequor at the Cafe du Centre was a culinary highlight even if the town shop with its British corner was closed. The pool was wonderful and a respite from the heat, although the weather was much more temperate than last year.
Thank you Richard and Meryl for once again being the consummate hosts, from sharing your knowledge of the area to your welcome to us all, especially Jess. Your gite is one of a kind and you should be proud of the wonderful space you have created!
Last but not least, POPPY! We would take her home if we could and you would let us! Thank you again and we hope to se you next year.

Nick, Sarah and Jess,

We have enjoyed another wonderful holiday at Le Tournesol.
This time the weather has been much kinder, up to 40 C. Many colourful sunsets have been viewed from the walnut tree. We have ventured out much more this time to visit the beautiful surrounding villages......Penne d'Agenais, Tournon d'Agenais, Rocquecor, Montaigu de Quercy, Monflanquin to name a few. We have also enjoyed Bergerac and Cahors. Moissac is interesting with the canal & we had a tasty galette for lunch.
The pool was particularly welcoming on the very warm days. In the fields adjacent to Le Tournesol we have seen hares, deer, owls, kestrels and buzzards. The farmers have given us plenty to watch as they harvested the crops.
Many thanks to Meryl, Richard and Poppy for their friendliness & helpfulness and a well managed property.
The welcome pack was very kind and useful and the lemon drizzle was enjoyed by all :).
Thanks again and we hope to return - again!

Kevin and Janet and Richard and Maggie,

What can we say about 'Le Tournesol' that has not already been said - we knew from the moment we arrived we were going to have a wonderful two weeks in this charming home in the French countryside.
Meryl and Richard are such thoughtful and great hosts who think of everything to make this a real home from home.
We have really enjoyed exploring the local area visiting local towns and villages with Moissac and Auvillar being places we will remember.
The local market at Montcuq and night market at Lauzerte are both recommended and well worth a visit too.
We are both sad to be leaving and hope to be able to return again soon.

Kirsty and Peter,

Five star accommodation
Five star hosts
Two weeks of mixed weather, but we read, swam, ate, drank and walked - into the village for some lovely lunches! Courtesy of Reme and co. We were made to feel like part of the community.
The local Butcher (Thierry - Sunday and Thursday am), a must, in fact we were his first customers on one Thursday (pate Basque very good)
Only ventured out once, except for hyper market shopping for a bit of Cahors tasting at Domaine du Garinet - rose Malbec sec 2018 excellent !!
Will be back as fast as possible, not withstanding Brexit!

Martin and Alison,

This was a lovely relaxing week for Clive and myself and our two doggies. Thank you Richard and Meryl for being so welcoming and helpful. Also thank you for all the goodies you left in the gite including treats for the dogs - very thoughtful!
Everything in the house was immaculate and to such a high standard.
We spent a lot of our time visiting many of the local villages for lunch. We would particularly recommend the Auberge at Bardigues and Hotel d'horologic at Auvillar - very nice!

Jo and Clive,

Not only are you fabulous friends but you are also fabulous hosts. The gite is amazing, from the view to the thoughtful touches. Thank you so much, we have had and amazing week. Can't wait to come back xx

Tim and Laura,

Thank you for a fantastic week. You are such excellent hosts, nothing is ever too much trouble - vegan cookies being an example!!
I have had a wonderful time and the gite is fabulous - can I please come back soon??

Sally,

Just returned from a week in Le Tournesol. Omg what a gorgeous place, huge, loads of space, gorgeous interior with every single thing you need. The pool was huge with gorgeous surroundings. The water was a bit cold but it didn't stop us having a splash. The owners are the best hosts I have ever come across, friendly, down to earth and nothing was too much trouble. It was our wedding anniversary and Meryl made us a sponge that I've got to say, was the best we'd ever had. Richard gave us a lift to the nearby restaurant and even picked us up. They are the best!
Poppy their dog was so cute, it was lovely seeing her because we were missing our doggy while we were away. Would we ever come back! Yes 100%!
Thank you so much again Richard and Meryl for letting us stay in your beautiful gite.

Gail,

What a wonderful fortnight we've had! From the moment we stepped into this beautiful, well-equipped + clean home, we knew we were going to have a marvellous time. It is the best self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect - it offered us relaxation by the pool + on the terrace, beautiful places to visit + excellent hosts too. Moissac was a particular favourite + Le Caillau in Vire sir Lot is a restaurant well worth a visit.
Richard and Meryl have got everything so right here, including Poppy who always brings a smile! We will definitely be returning. Huge thanks.

Kate and Suzie,

When we booked Le Tournesol we so hoped it would live up to the pictures and write up. Having had some disappointing holidays on the past, I didn't want to get our hopes up too much. Well I can honestly say Le Tournesol is every bit as beautiful and more - the views, facilities, the house and the pool are wonderful.
The real gem though is Richard and Meryl - all the little touches like the cakes (including birthday cake), the homemade jams and the daily upkeep of such a fabulous place are all wonderful. The big things as well - helping us with the doctor when William was ill, sorting out a punctured tyre and acting as personal tour guides. They provide a top notch concierge service providing the icing on the cake of our holiday.
We had the added fun of Poppy and the Girls - thanks to them Emma can now swim.
With much gratitude and best wishes for the future.

Dan, Bex, Will and Emma,

Personally we hope that this little gem, deep in the French countryside, remains hidden, so that its available to us for a return trip. We have really enjoyed our desperately needed break from the rigours of work and school life in the UK. A Levels, GCSEs and 11plus all in one year have taken their toll!
Thank you Richard and Meryl for your hospitality. You have created a wonderfully comfortable and well kitted out gite. Your attention to detail is clear to see. We were so grateful for the welcome pack - delicious cake and wine. And to arrive to a meal, after a long drive, was just brilliant.
We have been blessed with some remarkable weather, sometimes too hot for any length of time - 40 degrees!, but thankfully the house remains cool enough. And of course there is the refreshing pool providing much enjoyment.
We haven't done a great deal but that is what this week was all about before heading west to the coast for some beach action. That said a visit to the Abbey and cycle ride along the canal at Moissac are a must. And so to the food and music festival in Bourg de Visa. Amazing how such a quiet village can become so alive. Watching the sunsets under the walnut tree have been spectacular.
We certainly intend to be back. With thanks from us all.

Gus, Lucy, Eleanor and Alice,

What a wonderful week. Richard and Meryl you have created a wonderful escape to the French countryside. From your welcome emails to the warm welcome we received on arrival you have been the consummate hosts. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack - complete with chocolate cake!
We have had the most beautiful weather (if a tad hot at times), but the pool was a lovely 25 degrees. We have had a fabulous time swimming and Jess swimming the length of the pool herself by the end of the week.
Because of the wonderful weather we chose to stay by the pool but did enjoy an excursion to the Musee de Fois Gras - worth it just for the samples!
Last but not least Poppy! What a wonderful girl. We truly enjoyed meeting her - a highlight of Jess's and our stay.
Thank you again for a wonderful week.

Nick, Sarah and Jess,

As the second week of our holidays it's been great to immediately relax in such lovely surroundings and le Tournesol has been amongst the best places we've found in France over the last couple of years.
Richard and Meryl, you've created a wonderful retreat with all the little details we certainly appreciate. Sharp knives to make cooking a pleasure and a decent coffee machine!
Sunday greeted us with the most spectacular lightening storm rumbling across the huge skies, but we've also enjoyed glorious sunny days and warm evenings. Perfect to enjoy with a bottle of wine...or two.
Moissac and Laureate should be on everyone's visit list, both close and delightful to walk around.
The cake must get a mention - delicious and very appreciated. As was dinner on our arrival and the great evening we had with our lovely hosts.
Bourg de Visa is quiet but all life came out at the night market and the food and musical entertainment definitely a great surprise.
We'll remember our time fondly. and if passing no the way it the NC500 Richard, let us know!

Martin and Lynn,

We've had a wonderful two weeks here - beautiful weather, everything we could possibly need in the gite, and amazing hosts in Meryl and Richard (and Poppy).
We brought bikes and had some great cycling days along the route by the canal, and further afield for the more energetic member of the family!
Lots of beautiful places to visit - some of our favourites were Lauzerte, Moissac, Auvillar, Monatigu de Quercy, Tournon d'Agennais and Pujols. Nice to just wander around and have a good lunch, then come back for a swim in the pool.
We had a great night watching France v Belgium in the World Cup semi final in the square in Bourg de Visa. There was a TV screen hanging out of a window above the bar, the flags are out and beer was flowing. Wish we could stay and cheer France in the final!
Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Linda, Frank and Jennifer,

We took the risk and booked Le Tournesol for an entire month! We have not been disappointed - in fact we wish we could say longer.
These are just some of the memories we will take home to Australia:
* the changing moods of the expansive sky in different weathers and different times of day
* the abundance of lavender, sunflowers, barley and wheat
* the magnificent patchwork views across the fields to distant farms
* the local walks through dew-drenched woods and chemins
* the warmth and hospitality of our very congenial hosts
Our favourite market was Montage de Quercy on Saturday morning. We loved our visits to Laureate, Roquecor, Castelsagrat, Auvillar and Montauban. Oh yes - and St Nicolas de Grave! And Moissac of course.
Nothing better than coming home after a day out and relaxing by the delicious pool with a cup of tea and a slice of Meryl's coffee and walnut cake. All the better if Poppy makes a visit too!
Thank you Richard and Meryl for your attention to detail.

Chris and Gil,

A very enjoyable and relaxing week at Le Tournesol gite and hosts Meryl and Richard plus of course the lovely Poppy. Weather was slightly mixed but very pleasant when the sun was out.
The very peaceful and well prepared accommodation was for the week and provided a perfect base to visit the surrounding area.
The nearby village of Bourg de Visa is very picturesque and provides all required amenities with local shop an bank. Enjoyed a very nice meal at the restaurant on our final evening, the owner was most welcoming and very friendly.
Thanks again both and hope to return again.

Andrew and Becky,

From the moment we arrived we have had a wonderful hols - Richard and Meryl's welcome pack - so thoughtful - made a huge difference and allowed instant relaxation! and Meryl's lemon drizzle and apricot jam were to die for!
The gite is in just the most beautiful location and couldn't be bettered, with it's 360 degree views, sunshine (well, weather permitting!) on all sides and glorious views of the countryside. The bird song while having breakfast or lunch was a delight.
Highlights of the week include an amazing 4 course meal for €15 (make sure you are hungry!) and an afternoon's cycle along the canal at Moissac. We came quite early in the season so couldn't sample many of the restaurants but we are looking forward to the opportunity on our next visit!
Thank you Richard and Meryl (and Poppy) for being so welcoming and such excellent hosts....and Richard for guidance on beautiful walks straight from the gite.

Jane and James,

We have had an amazing weeks holiday here, we only wish we could stay for longer. Richard and Meryl are wonderful hosts that have created such a special gite, it has everything that you could need, and touches like an assortment of goodies and Meryl's amazing lemon drizzle cake set this gite apart. We will definitely be back to stay and have already discussed dates.
It is fantastic that you are able to walk to the local shop and bakery, the village centre is beautiful and we had a lovely meal in the market square last night.
The gite is in a really relaxing and quiet spot that has allowed us to really get away from things, I can't remember the last time we had such a relaxing holiday.
Thank you so much.

Lucy and Kai,

We've really enjoyed our stay in Richard and Meryl's delightful property. Le Tournesol was exceptional in terms of both quality and equipment provided for our weeks holiday.
Thank you Richard and Meryl for your wonderful hospitality. The welcome pack and cake were superb, together with your attentiveness in catering for everything which made our stay so enjoyable.
We enjoyed several excursions out to nearby villages and settlements ...... Moissac, Auvillar and Lauzerte were particular highlights along with a walk along the canal de deux mers.
We thoroughly enjoyed Poppy's regular visits!
We will miss the wonderful sunsets and views across the local countryside. There is still much to see and we hope to return in the future.
We have no hesitation in recommending Le Tournesol to our family and friends.

Kevin and Janet and Richard and Maggie,

We've had a most relaxing holiday here at Le Tournesol, and really appreciated the kind and generous hospitality of Richard and Meryl.
The surrounding landscape and farmers provided us with endless hours of enjoyment - especially watching the harvesting of the nearby sunflower crop. it's quite entertaining to speculate on what's going on without actually having a clue! That together with the fantastic sunsets (and sunrises) and the awe inspiring night skies......
Richard has been diligent in ensuring the pool was opened every morning and remained sparkling throughout our stay.
Overall a most enjoyable holiday. We would wholeheartedly recommend Le Tournesol and hope to return. Thanks again Meryl for the amazing cakes.

Fiona and Gus,

We have spent 2 weeks in the gite and have had the best family holiday ever. The gite is just fantastic, home to all of us and even better with such great views and surroundings. Richard and Meryl have through to everything to make all the family feel extremely welcome.
We recommend a good, relaxing bike ride along the canal at Moissac, Park Walibi in Agen and Agen centre. A must is the crazy golf at Chateau Stelsia - such a beautiful place and a fantastic game of golf for everyone.
Our girls have learnt to swim and do front and back flips in the pool. An unforgettable memory for us all - along with fun packed hours of monopoly!
Thank you Meryl and Richard for everything. Also thank you Poppy for all the kisses and cuddles.

Nick, Karen, Elise and Zoe,

The gite is perfectly equipped, within a wonderful location with fantastic views. A completely restful and relaxing time, which is exactly what we wanted. The pool providing the ideal entertainment for the children, with the added bonus of Richard's net for competitive games of pool volleyball!!
Places to go -
Bourg de Visa - market on a Tuesday evening, Brasserie and local goat farm
Montage de Quercy - market on a Saturday morning
Bonaguil at Fumel - great castle (although lot of steps)
Le Boulve - local wine producers - free tasting and interesting tour
Richard and Meryl were fabulous hosts - very generous with they time and knowledge.
We really don't want to go home. So we have decided to squat!! Plus we have fallen in love with Poppy!
Thanks for everything.

Nik, Sarah, Adam and Charlie,

What a wonderful place this is! The views, the sky (the skies!) and a lovingly prepared house. Meryl and Richard have thought of everything, from the best ever (it's official!) welcome goodies to proper cooking tools and much more. All in a beautifully presented house. And such lovely people (and Poppy) too.
Highlight 'touristy' thing to do this week: A 50km bike ride along the Canal des deux mers from the Canal over the Garonne (stunning) in Moissac to Valence d'Agen and back. Flat and shaded - all bike lanes - looking at the narrow boats passing sluices. A welcome slowdown from normal hectic pace.
Thank you so much Meryl and Richard, we will be back and recommend Le Tournesol very highly.

David, Juliette, Fynn and Nell,

We have enjoyed another wonderful holiday at Le Tournesol.

Thanks again and we hope to return - again!!

This time the weather was much kinder, up to 40C. Many colourful sunsets have ben viewed from the walnut tree.

Kevin and Janet, Richard and Maggie,

Thank you both so much for the use of your beautiful gite - everything you need and loved the pool!
Enjoyed Moissac, Auvillar, Lourdes and Lauzerte.
What a great night we had with you both and your lovely friends at Beauville - great evening and charming village!
We will come back!

Marion and Snowy,

After a really warm welcome, this place feels just like home!
Meryl and Richard have been fantastic hosts, from the very first day arriving at the gite and making us coffee after a long drive, to taking us to the nearby night market to experience the real France.
The villa itself is beautiful and peaceful - couldn't ask for more, and we have loved our morning visits from Poppy!!
A highlight for us was a visit to Sarlat-de-Canada - the centre is truly breathtaking. On the way back stopped for a drink at Beynac - you can see the chateau on the hill whilst having a coffee on the riverside, watching people canoe past!
We have loved it!! We will be back!

Carly and Pete,

Richard and Meryl are the greatest hosts. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Love Poppy!
The Tournesol gite is home from home, comfortable, everything you would want is here. Location is stunning, great views. Loved our spot under the walnut tree.
Highlights - Monflanquin, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Auvillar and Condom - Bourg de Visa was a fantastic central hub for visiting all these places.
Thank you Meryl and Richard for a great holiday. And Poppy of course.

Liz and Michael,

Thank you Meryl and Richard for a wonderful stay, including fireworks in the village, lovely sun and swims, amazing storm, beautiful scenery, charming villages and of course truly delightful and hospitable hosts. We can thoroughly recommend this stunning gite.

Maggie and Geoff,
